Since our inception, Spartan has made giving back to our community one of the traditions we hold most dear. By donating Spartan’s winnings from our annual participation in the Floor Covering News Fantasy Football League, we were able to support Harford Family House, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing homelessness in Harford County, MD. This contribution advances their mission and shows how partnerships create lasting, local impact exactly where communities need it most.
Who Is Harford Family House?
Harford Family House is the largest provider of transitional housing for families and unaccompanied adults experiencing homelessness in Harford County. Founded in 1989 by nine local churches, the organization began with one apartment and a single mother in need of housing. Today, they serve over 40 people across two locations, offering more than just shelter—HFH delivers case management, education, and resources. Their goal is to guide individuals and families toward permanent housing and long-term stability through compassion, structure, and community support.
Program Highlights at Harford Family House
Harford Family House operates two distinct locations to meet a broad range of community needs. The Aberdeen site offers longer-term housing and wraparound support for families and young adults navigating transitional periods. Belcamp provides 26 beds for men and 6 for women in a communal-style environment with nightly meals served by local volunteers. Additional programs include “Ready by 21,” supporting youth aging out of foster care with housing, mentorship, and case management services.

They help cover first month’s rent, security deposits, and programs like children’s homework clubs and healthy habits sessions led by volunteers. Whether supporting youth initiatives or emergency resources, each dollar ensures stability for those working toward a brighter, independent future.
